US Congress Warns Employees not to Install Chinese AI App DeepSeek: Report
US congressional offices have been alerted versus setting up the Chinese AI app DeepSeek, Axios reported on Thursday, citing a notice issued by the chief administrative officer of the US Legislature.
According to Axios, the notification stated, “At this time, DeepSeek is under evaluation by the CAO and is currently unauthorized for official House use.”
The introduction of DeepSeek, an inexpensive Chinese AI design, has raised issues about its potential to challenge the market dominance of US-based AI giants like OpenAI and Alphabet’s Google.
Recently, DeepSeek introduced a complimentary AI assistant that it claims runs with lower information use and at a fraction of the expense of US designs. Within days, it ended up being the most downloaded app on Apple’s App Store, sustaining stress over US leadership in AI.
This to a market shake-up that erased around $1 trillion in value from US tech stocks.
